The approved energy consumption is 13.8 kWh, a value that is not exceptional, allowing a battery of “only” 38.3 kWh to authorize a range, according to the WLTP protocol, of 311 km, about 30 km more than a Leaf with 40 kWh battery. For those who are more picky about these electric things, know that the energy density is 112.4 Wh/kg, the output power is 113 kW, this being a lithium-ion battery. The capacity of the installed charger is 7.2 kW, so in a normal socket 80% of the charge arrives after 6h05m, in a fast charge socket (50 kW), the same 80% is reached in 57 minutes, it takes 54 minutes in a 100 kW charger. It is not famous especially in fast charging. But autonomy is very reasonable for a car like the Ioniq.
The engine is another of the novelties of the renewed Ioniq, appearing more powerful with 136 hp, this in current language, because the electric motor of the Ioniq has 100 kW. Accounts made, are 16 hp more than before, which allows you to reach 0-100 km/h in 9.7 seconds. Just one word: this is not a Tesla! That is, it doesn't have crazy modes or exuberant acceleration times. This is a car to be driven, preferably, in the city and on commuting connections home-work-home, without exaggeration or abuse. And then, the Ioniq's engine works perfectly, still having some frills to glue our backs to the seat.
Interior
If on the outside the changes were modest, on the inside Hyundai has tinkered more deeply with a new instrument panel, better materials, lighting and controls. In these respects, Ioniq is much better. The highlight is in the center of the dashboard where, in a floating way, a 10.25-inch screen “jumps”. It works with Android Auto, Apple Car Play, has the right dose of virtual and real buttons and in front of the driver is a generously sized screen that serves as a fully digital instrument panel. The bluish atmosphere stands out at night in a very pleasant way. The Bluelink connectivity system is offered as standard, it has an integrated 4G modem to provide traffic information and allow remote access to battery status and other information. There is a cloud-based voice control function, Bluetooth is multi-function, allowing you to connect two phones at the same time, thus avoiding discussions about what music to listen to.
