Cupra Leon Sportstourer

Sustainable energy

This system combines a 1.4-liter four-cylinder TSI engine with 150 hp with an electric motor that “delivers” 116 hp (85 kW) — both engines are mounted at the front.

The electrical system is powered by a 13 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that allows this CUPRA Leon Sportstourer e-HYBRID to claim a combined 100% electric range (WLTP cycle) of 52 km.

In the case of the CUPRA Leon e-Hybrid, the mechanical choice falls on a plug-in hybrid system with 245 hp of combined power and 400 Nm of maximum torque when the two engines 'push' in unison. On the side of the thermal block is the well-known 1.4 TSI of 150 hp and 250 Nm, while on the side of the 'electron age' is an electric machine of 85 kW (116 hp), it being necessary to remember, once again, that combined power is not just the sum of the two engines. The gearbox chosen for this combination is the six-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG). Powering the electric motor is a 13 kWh lithium-ion battery, which can be recharged in six hours from a domestic socket (2.3 kW) or in about four when connected to a 3.6 kW wallbox.
