The Tourneo Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) vehicle uses two different power supplies. The battery-powered electric motor propels the vehicle, while the 1L Ford EcoBoost gasoline engine acts to charge the hybrid battery and extend the vehicle's range. The driver can select from three available "EV" modes, including "EV Now", which allows for zero emissions using only electric power and with an expected range of 56 km. The PHEV battery can also be charged at most AC mains charging points.
The Tourneo Custom 9-seater wagon is available with an impressive array of intelligent driver assistance features. For example, Smart Speed Assist uses Traffic Sign Recognition to first detect the current speed limit (when enabled), and then the system adjusts your maximum speed to keep you within that limit. When you reverse to leave a place and have reduced visibility of the place, the Cross Traffic Alert can detect approaching vehicles and warn you. The Blind Spot Detection Information System warns you if it detects vehicles that you may not be able to see in the blind spot. Adaptive Cruise Control helps make driving less stressful. Set your target speed and Adaptive Cruise Control maintains a distance from the vehicle in front. If the sensors detect traffic moving slowly ahead, your vehicle will automatically slow down. When there are no more impediments, your vehicle accelerates again to the preselected speed.

With the 9-seater Ford Tourneo Custom van, you will enjoy an exceptional on-board experience wherever you sit. Flexible rear seats offer a variety of possible seating and luggage configurations. If you opt for an L2 version with a long chassis, you'll have even more luggage space. The new reversible 2nd row seats let you easily create a conference-style seating arrangement. Depending on the model you choose, you will have three separate seats in the 3rd row and/or individual seats in the 2nd row.
